Tax credit for a top-level Québec athlete

If you’re an athlete who lived in Québec on December 31st and you were recognized in 2024 by the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur as a top-level athlete, you can claim the tax credit for a top-level Québec athlete.

You’ll need the certificate issued to you by the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur to claim the tax credit. Remember to keep your certificate on file just in case Revenu Québec asks to see it.

Follow these steps in H&R Block's 2024 tax software:

Before you begin, make sure you’ve told us that you lived in Quebéc on December 31, 2024.

  1. On the left navigation menu, under the Credits & deductions tab, click Other.
  2. Under the SPECIFIC CREDITS FOR YOUR PROVINCE heading, select the checkbox labelled Other Québec tax credits.

  3. When you arrive at the Other Québec tax credits page, enter your information into the tax software.
