File your taxes however way you want through your computer, smartphone, or tablet. With H&R Block Canada you can pick up from where you left off using any given device of your choice.

1. GET STARTED

2. LOGIN or CREATE AN ACCOUNT

  • Create your account or sign in if you already have one. To create an account, you must enter your details in the form. You’ll also be asked to create a password which you can later use to sign into your H&R Block account.

3. START YOUR RETURN

  • If you’ve used H&R Block’s tax software previously, you can import your information from a previous return and save time or simply click Start a new 2023 return.

  • Select all the topics that apply to the income and expenses you had during the year.

  • Scroll down the page and select the package of your choice by clicking the Start for $0 button.

    • The recommended package that applies to all the topics you selected previously, is highlighted.

    • For more support, you can choose to purchase Expert Help.

    • ­ If you are unable to complete your return in one sitting, don’t worry, all the information you’ve entered will be saved.

  • Whether you are a returning Tax Software user, or new, you must review and edit your personal and family information when you start a new return.

    • ­ You’ll be prompted to fill out forms to input your personal information, mailing address, residence, and household details under the Get Started section. You are required to fill out the details and click the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

    • ­ If applicable, enter the details about your spouse or common-law partner and your dependents.

  • Once you’ve entered all the details, click Continue to review all the information entered on the Summary page.

4. PREPARE

  • After reviewing your personal information, you can auto-fill your forms for the CRA and/or Revenu Québec (to do this you’ll need to have a CRA My Account and/or a Revenu Québec My Account for Individuals).

  • Next, you can add your slips, RRSPs and unused amounts and claim your credits, deductions, and expenses

5. Wrap-Up

  • Before you file your return, we can help you maximize your credits and deductions, and you can choose the ones you want to claim.

  • This is where you’ll have the opportunity to review the summary of your return and fix any errors.

6. File

  • NETFILE your return electronically to the CRA or Revenu Québec. If you’re eligible for a refund you could get it in as little as eight days.
