Warning: Enter EI premiums on T4

You will see the following warning in H&R Block’s 2025 tax software if, on the T4: Statement of remuneration paid page, you entered an amount in box 24(EI insurable earnings), but did not enter an amount in box 18 (Employee’s EI premiums):

You should have an amount in box 18 (Employee's EI premiums) on the T4 page, because you entered an amount in box 24 (EI insurable earnings). Make sure you entered all the amounts shown on the T4 slip. [warning]

 

How do I fix this?

To clear this warning, enter the amount found in box 18 on the T4 slip you received, into the designated field on the T4 page in H&R Block's tax software. If box 18 on your paper T4 slip is empty, contact the employer or administrator that issued the slip.

Note: You can enter your T4 slip on the Smart Search page under the Government slips tab on the left navigation menu. Type T4 in the search and then, click it or press Enter.
