Warning: T4 box 18 exceeds maximum

You will see the following warning message in H&R Block’s 2024 tax software if, you entered an amount in box 18 on the T4: Statement of remuneration page that is more than the maximum EI premium amount for the year:

EI premiums can’t exceed $1,049.12. Make sure you entered the amount shown in box 18 on the T4 slip correctly. [Warning]

 

Note: If the value in your T4 box 18 is higher than the max, it can be added. The warning is displayed in case there is a typo.

How do I fix this?

To clear this warning, enter the correct amount found in box 18 of the T4 slip you received, into the designated field of the H&R Block tax software.

Note: You can enter your T4 slip on the Smart Search page under the Government slips tab on the left navigation menu. Type T4 in the search and then, click it or press Enter.
