Error code 336

You will see the following error in H&R Block’s 2024 tax software if, when completing the T4A: Statement of pension, retirement, annuity and other income page, you chose box 105 (scholarships, bursaries, fellowships, artists’ project grants, prizes) from the drop-down list in the Box number field, but did not specify what type of award you received:

You need to choose the type of income for the amount you entered for box 105 on the T4A page. [error code: 336]

 

How do I fix this?

To correct the error:

1. Go to the T4A page.

2. Go to the section Let’s add a few more details about the scholarships, bursaries, etc. you entered in box 105.

3. Choose the type of award you received from the drop-down list next to What type of award did you receive?

Note: You can enter your T4A slip on the Smart Search page under the Government slips tab on the left navigation menu. Type “T4A” in the search and click Enter to continue. Once added, edit your information by navigating to the Your federal slips section, click Edit in the T4A row.
