Error code 312

You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2025 tax software if, on the Contributions to the CPP or QPP (Schedule 8) page, you indicated that you restarted your CPP contributions on your self-employment income after your revocation date:

The month you chose to restart your CPP contributions on your self-employment income is after the revocation date you entered related to the CPT30 you gave your employer. The month you chose to restart your CPP contributions must be before your revocation date. If your revocation was not made in 2025, answer No to the question about revoking your election in 2025. [error code: 312]

 

How do I fix this?

To fix this error, go back to the Schedule 8 page and enter the month in which you restarted your CPP contributions on your self-employment income. The month in which you restarted your CPP contributions must be before the month you entered for your revocation date (as per your CPT30 form). If you didn’t revoke your election in 2025, answer No to the question about revoking your election in 2025.
